Local Opportunities –Working Together

Division of Mission Outreach Michigan Conference UCC Southeast Area

Habitat For Humanity Detroit works in partnership with the community and families in need to build simple, decent, affordable housing. Volunteer to build a home, join a committee, or work with your organization to sponsor a home. Our Mission Habitat for Humanity Detroit, in partnership with God and families in need of adequate housing, brings together people from all walks of life to revitalize Detroit neighborhoods through the construction of decent affordable homes.

Demonstrate your faith in action! Habitat for Humanity Detroit is an excellent opportunity for your faith group to demonstrate the love of God in a tangible, meaningful way to help others with a hand up.  Organize a faith group to volunteer and put your Faith in Action every third Saturday monthly at Habitat for Humanity Detroit.  Up to 80 volunteers are needed to assist with our construction projects each Saturday. Group size can range from 5 people to 25. Both skilled and unskilled volunteers needed. On-the-job training provided.

In communities across America, neighbors are walking together to take a stand against hunger in our world.  Together we raise awareness and funds for international relief and development, as well as local hunger-fighting.  Join a walk in your area… get involved.

Toy Box Mission—Trinity St. Marks

30 Hour Famine is an international youth movement to fight hunger. It will bring your group closer together and to God, feed hungry children, and change our world forever.   It will unite youth group members like never before. And the impact will last long after the Famine event is over. It can be the spark that fires up a person for a lifetime of reaching out to neighbors in need, whether they're across the street - or around the globe.
